Summer Musical Theatre Intensives
Ages 6-16
At Encore, we are an all-encompassing performing arts center, which means the theatre never stops! This summer, we are offering two high-energy opportunities to take the stage. Our intensives challenge performers to put on a full musical production with an accelerated rehearsal process.
Whether you have one week or two, come experience the thrill of the spotlight!
One-Week Musical Intensive
Dates: July 20th – July 24th
Production: Junie B.’s Essential Survival Guide to School JR.
Venue: Performance in our Blackbox Studio Theatre on July 24th.
About the Show: Now that Junie B. Jones has been going to school for over one-and-a-half years, who better to write the book on everything you need to know? From bus rules to band-aids, Junie B. and her friends deliver the ultimate guide to surviving elementary school in this hilarious and heartfelt musical based on the beloved book series.
Two-Week Musical Theatre Intensive
Dates: August 17th – August 28th
Production: The SpongeBob Musical (Youth Edition)
About the Show: Plunge into this stunning all-singing, all-dancing stage show! When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon explode and destroy their humble home, SpongeBob and his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world. With a score featuring a variety of musical styles, this is a high-stakes, high-energy adventure for performers and audiences alike.
Day Camps
Ages 3-10
Our day camps are the perfect mix of dance and play! Campers enjoy daily dance classes, themed games, and creative arts and crafts—all specially curated to match the magic of the week’s theme.
Camp Broadway
Dates: July 27th – July 31st
Give our regards to Broadway! We’re celebrating the biggest hits from the stage. Each day focuses on a different Broadway classic through high-energy dancing, theater games, and themed crafts. It’s time for your star to shine in the spotlight!
Huntrix Training Camp: K-Pop
Dates: August 3rd – August 7th
Step into the world of a K-Pop idol with a supernatural twist! In this high-octane camp, dancers will master sharp K-Pop choreography while “training” to defend the world. Campers will create their own hunter personas, learn stylized routines, and build the confidence of a global superstar.
Ohana Island Party
Dates: August 10th – August 14th
Ohana means family, and family means no one gets left behind! Inspired by the world of Lilo & Stitch, this camp is a tropical getaway filled with hula-inspired movement, upbeat island tunes, and crafts. Get ready for a week of sunshine, friendship, and surfing through the studio!
Zootropolis Summer Adventure Camp
Dates: August 17th – August 21st
In Zootropolis, anyone can be anything! Join us for an adventure inspired by Zootopia 2 as we explore the different districts of the city. Campers will “paws” for dance breaks, solve “cases” through creative movement, and celebrate the beat of the city. It’s going to be a wild week of fun!
Glitz & Groove: Music Video Pop Star Camp
Dates: August 24th – August 28th
Ready for your close-up? It’s time to live the life of a pop icon! This week is all about the camera, the lights, and the dance floor. Campers will learn commercial-style choreography, practice their “stage presence,” and work toward filming their very own music video-style routine.
Dance Intensives
Ages 7-10 & Ages 11+
Our Summer Dance Intensive is designed for the dancer who is ready to transition from student to artist. While weekly classes build the necessary foundation, our intensive is about breaking boundaries. We hand-pick elite guest instructors directly from the professional industry—choreographers, company members, and commercial dancers—to bring the current pulse of the dance world directly into our studios.
These aren’t just classes; they are mentorship sessions designed to give our dancers a competitive edge.
The Core Four Intensive
Dates: August 3rd – August 7th
Build the ultimate foundation. The Core Four Intensive is an all-encompassing program designed to bridge the gap between “taking class” and “mastering movement.” By focusing on four pillars of a well-rounded dancer, we ensure students leave with more power, precision, and body awareness.
Each discipline offers a unique pathway to physical and artistic mastery, creating a well-rounded foundation for any mover. Ballet serves as the technical bedrock, instilling a sense of precise placement and effortless grace that carries over into all other forms. In contrast, Contemporary dance encourages a departure from rigid structures, inviting dancers to explore fluidity, intricate floor work, and the raw power of emotional expression. To add a layer of dynamic athleticism, Acro focuses on the intersection of flexibility and core control, allowing dancers to master gravity-defying aerial skills. Supporting all these styles is Strength & Conditioning, a vital component that provides sport-specific training to build explosive power while ensuring the body remains resilient against injury. Together, these styles blend disciplined tradition with modern athleticism and creative freedom, which make for a powerhouse intensive.
The Industry Intensive
Dates: August 10th – August 14th
Step out of the studio and into the spotlight. The Industry Intensive is a high-energy, full-immersion experience into the world of Commercial Dance. We bring in elite guest instructors currently working in the field to give your dancer a taste of professional life.
The Styles: A fast-paced rotation of Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, and Musical Theatre and so much more.
Commercial Prep: Learning how to pick up choreography quickly and perform with “star quality.”
On-Camera Feature: The Music Video Project: A highlight of our commercial week! Dancers will go through the process of rehearsing and filming an original music video right here in our studio. This hands-on experience teaches dancers how to maintain high energy through multiple takes, understand camera angles, and translate their technical skills into a digital format.
